Description
Caves Spicaku is the oldest cave in central Europe, about it was written. A first mention comes from 1430 (Anthonius Wale). The cave was often served as a shelter, as evidenced by numerous epigraphic inscriptions on the walls (the oldest from 1519). In the years 1884-1885, the cave was primitively made available for sightseeing by the mountain association of the Sudeten Germans, today's appearance results from making it available in 1955. Underground labyrinths and fissures with a total length of over 400 m were created in devonian marbles (marine outwashes having 350-380 million years old). Development of the rooms clearly proceeded under the influence of the melting glacier, whose waters gave the caves the final appearance and the corridors have a characteristic heart shape. The 230 m length of the sightseeing track is available without restrictions. The caves are adapted for visitors by disabled people.
